Nurse Joy Part 2: Delivery

Kaitlyn Wolf: Shit, why did I have to agree with this? But I really wanted kids, and cubs. And what about Wolf's mother? What would she do if she found out that I'm having cubs now? I couldn't think about those answers now, right now is delivering her cubs. And she wanted Wolf to be by her side.

Nurse Joy: PUSH, KAITLYN PUSH! I screamed over her screams, how can she have kids this early? I thought to myself. I told her again to push, there is only one child coming out of her vagina. It's a boy, congradulations. I said to Wolf and Kaitlyn both. Off you go Wolf, let your girlfriend rest and then you can see her. I said pushing out the door before he could say anything to Kaitlyn.

At first, Wolf allowed himself to be escorted out of the room without a word. His face was pale and taut.

It was taking all of his energy to keep from vomiting. Twice - no - three times, he felt bile rise up in his throat at the miracle of life that had just occured in front of him. He had always considered himself to be unaffected by gore, as he hunted, killed, and skinned wild animals on a regular basis. But what had just happened in front of him was different. So many different emotions attacking him at once, in addition to the smell of fresh blood and Kaitlyn's own screaming...

...it curdled his blood.

Once he managed to control his violent stomach again, he said something weakly to no one in particular from behind the closed door.

"...I wanna see her. Lemme see Kaitlyn. I wanna see her. I have to tell her..." he caught himself about to vomit again. "...how much I love her."

Nurse Joy: I shook my head at him, You can see her and talk to her after she had her rest. Now shoo, I have to deal with your boy. Just make sure you tell me his name and I'll write it down on his birth certificate. Now shoo, oh and when you puke, please puke in a near by trash can. I said to him and closed the door in front of his face.

Kaitlyn Wolf: I kept whimpering when the pain was still here, I kept wondering what would happen to her child if Wolf's mother knows about it.

Wolf nodded, his face going green as he flung his head into the trash can at his feet and retched.

Peeling himself away, he stumbled into the bathroom and doused his stubble-covered face with cool water, which helped alleviate his senses. Upon drying his face, he raised his head to find himself face to face with his reflection in the mirror above the sink. He swallowed hard at he stared at his own worst enemy, spitting angrily at the mirror before turning and leaving the bathroom.

Wolf returned to the outside of the emergency room doors and took a seat, with his head in his hands. He sat up momentarily as a name thrust itself almost instantly in his head, and he realized this was no coincidence. Someone was trying to tell him the name of his firstborn son.

"...Mordecai." He said, speaking to the nurse on the other side of the door. "His name is Mordecai."

Nurse Joy: I looked up at Wolf and nodded. Good, Mordecai Wills Wolf. Its now on his birth certificate. And thank you for waiting patiently, you may go inside and see Kaitlyn now. I shall bring in your son after awhile. I said as I opened the doors for him.

Wolf rushed into the room, striding to Kaitlyn's side and kissing her sweaty, tearful face repeatedly.

Besides her swollen, puffy features and tired body, she appeared to be in good health, and he hoped that his cub was doing the same. Wolf was well aware that Lycan children cannot change from their wolf forms until they are around 24 weeks old, so he would have to prepare a place for a wolf cub to grow for a little while. Mordecai Wills Wolf...he liked it. It had a nice ring to it. Even still, he wondered where the name had come from. It had just...appeared in his head fully formed, and he definitely had no say in it.

So, where had it come from?

"You were great." He said, not really having a knack for knowing what to say in these situations. "I love you so much."

Kaitlyn Wolf: I was shivering just hopefully that Wolf wouldn't see it. I wasn't cold, I was afraid. Wolf, your mother wants our cub. I can't let that happen, she keeps coming over to my dreams and have nightmares saying she'll taking our cub. I said with my voice quivering when I was about to cry. I wanted to hug him, I was just so numb, I couldn't move my hands.

Nurse Joy: I was cleaning Mordecai and was wrapping the cub in a blue blanket and bringing him out to see his parents. Here you go, here's Mordecai. I said happily to them as I handed him to Wolf.

Kaitlyn Wolf: Mordecai, I like the name. I said, and when I first looked at him I almost sobbed. I smiled.

Wolf instinctively embraced his love, with his little cub between them, cooing quietly. "Shhh...baby, no one's taking our cub. I know you keep having these nightmares, but don't believe them for a minute. You just gave birth, for chrissakes. You should be happy, Kait." He said with a disarming smile, hoping to ease her thoughts.

"I'm glad you like the name," he added. "It's mine."

Wolf's real name was Mordecai, as was his father. That's where the voice had come from. He was sure of it now. He didn't know how he knew, but he was absolutely positive of these two facts all of a sudden. He stared down at his cub in thought, wondering what was happening to him.

I'm...Mordecai? he thought to himself.

I loved the name, so I showed that I was happy. I smiled then kissed Mordecai on top of the forehead. I seen Mordecai haven't opened his eyes yet because he was just born. I was looking everywhere to find a bottle and Nurse Joy knew what I was looking for and she gave it to me. I used the bottle after saying thank you and gave it to Mordecai. I kissed Wolf while I was feeding Mordecai.

Wolf trailed kisses down Kaitlyn's jaw to her neck, purring with delight.

"Damn...we did good, baby. That's a cute cub."

Because his wolf-like features had yet to form, Mordecai looked more like a puppy than anything else, his eyes closed and his dark fur soft and puffy. He sucked lightly at the bottle, and, as he yawned, Wolf noticed rows of gums that would soon be the home of sharp fangs. Wolf licked his own teeth as if to confirm this.

"How soon can we go back to our dorm?" Wolf said quietly, trying not to hurt the cub's sensitive ears.

Nurse Joy: I heard the question as quietly as he could. Then I told him, not until 3-6 weeks then you will take him home. I told him.

Kaitlyn Wolf: I stared at her terrified, 3-6 weeks! I thought. That's horrible.
